happy birthday harvey

On this seventy-ninth anniversary of the birth of Harvey Milk, I cannot help but wonder how things would have been different had he not been taken from us.

What would his continued guidance have meant to us all? What would he have been able to accomplish, both personally and politically, had he been given the time?

In his own words, spoken at his memorial by Anne Kronenberg:

I can be killed with ease.
I can be cut right down.
But I cannot fall back into my closet.
I have grown.
I am not myself.
I am too many.
I am all of us.

Happy Birthday Harvey. Your spirit lives in us today and always.
