4082

Accoring to icasualties.org, a total of four thousand and eighty two American service men and women have been killed in the six years of the Iraqi occupation. Best to add tens of thousands of debilitating injuries to account for the lives that have been forever altered.

You can view the statistics here

Please remember them all today and do everything in your power to elect candidates in November that will get us out of this quagmire before thousands of other young lives are snuffed out or shattered.

Supporting the troops means bringing them home.

Jeff:
what profound numbers!
What is also disturbing to me are the number of disfigurements - especially horrendous facial injuries. These men and women live their lives with a lifelong altered appearance. I couldn't imagine looking into mirror and not seeing someone I recognize anymore!

It's so depressing and so unnecessary. Thanks for reminding us what Memorial Day is actually about.

I'm just shaking my head in disgust and pity and goodness knows what else while reading those statistics.

Brilliant post and I totally second and agree with your sentiments. Enough is enough.

it is inconceivable to me that this has happened in this country. one life wasted at the altar of george bush's ego-driven lies is one too many. it's tragic.

and just last evening, playing poker at a neighbor's house, i heard "well, it really doesn't matter who we elect because it will all balance out in the end. that's why we have bipartisan government, so one will balance the other. it will be fine even if mccain wins the election. there's nothing he can do that will ruin the USA."

what? wtf??? people are fucking insane. so blind, so stupid, so blissfully unaware.
